(More customer reviews)I purchased this item two weeks ago. I have tried all variations of espresso coffee/different grinds/tamping method. I have not ever been able to get any Crema foam. The shot of espresso is done in 10 seconds.....I have not been able to do anything to get a proper looking or tasting shot of espresso. I returned this one to the store to try another thinking maybe it was a faulty one.
I purchased the same Hamilton Beach espresso maker....went through the cleaning process before using...Wow...the smell of plastic coming from the stem wand was very strong. So I repeated the cleaning process...the same plastic smell. When I ran water from the steam wand into an empty cup as per instructions I could see small black pieces floating in the cup. I repeated the cleaning...same smell...same black pieces floating in water. I packed the machine up....and returned it to store.
I gave it a real good try...but I would not recommend this machine.
