My first Bialetti Class expresso maker had a weak hinge on the lid. The hinge on the lid of this espresso maker is very strong and durable.
I keep this second espresso maker on the stove top all the time. It is a beautiful product.
I use both espresso makers when I have company. Since the espresso maker with the weak hinge is used much less frequently, it should last a good long time.
